David Beckham has often been referred to as Golden Balls, presumably because of the prowess he shows on the field. Some think this is not all there is to it; moreover, given that he’s just been replaced as the body for Armani Underwear by Cristiano Ronaldo, Italian reporter and prankster Elena Di Cioccio decided to find out which is which, but ended up assaulting him smack in the middle of a crowded street, as Metro can confirm.
The entire skit was part of a humorous Italian show and was to serve the purpose of illustrating that speculation going back a couple of years that Beckham had some help with filling the Armani undies from the good old Photoshop was actually accurate. It was also meant as a harmless joke – though Beckham was far from amused, as the video below clearly illustrating, shooting the woman a look that best explains the saying “if looks could kill.”
"Becks got the shock of his life when Italy’s response to Dennis Pennis, TV prankster Elena Di Cioccio, snapped on her yellow cleaning gloves to pull off her groping challenge for her popular show Le Iene (The Hyenas). In the ultimate swoop, Di Cioccio craftily stalked, moved in and cupped a stunned Becks as he chatted happily to TV reporters,” Metro writes of the prank.
As the football star was enumerating the many reasons he was happy to be in the country on his temporary stay with AC Milan, Cioccio moved in and felt him up. By the look on Beckham’s face, he neither expected such a thing, nor was he amused by the prank, which he most probably did not even get. He was quickly escorted by his bodyguards to his car and there, as he was preparing to drive away, had to face Cioccio again, as she was trying to make him explain why he had deceived her and all the women in the world with those Armani ads.
“David was not at all pleased with this stunt. He didn’t know what was going on and luckily the security team stepped in and stopped her having another go,” a source close to the star tells Metro. On the other hand, people at Le Iene are keeping their hopes high that David understood this was just a joke. “It was just a joke and we hope that Beckham took it in the spirit it was meant,” one such insider says for the same publication. Below is the video of the prank. David Beckham doesn’t seem to be taking it “in the spirit it was meant.”
