He may have lost his position on the England squad, but David Beckham is a very busy man to spend his days pining for bygone things. Just recently, he and his Posh wife, Victoria, launched their own line of fragrance and now David, just like his soul mate, wrote a book.
Believe it or not, Mrs. Beckham, the woman who said last year that she hadn't read a book in her entire life, just launched a book on fashion which, she says, was written by her... word! And what did David do? He also took up pen and paper and started penning his memoirs.
The result is 'Making It Real', a story about the way he made it into the competitive world of sports and fashion and everything else on the side. The memoirs also include the detailed version of how things went down when he was dropped (without prior notice, he adds) from the English team.
In a recent interview with Radio One, Becks gives the full (oral) account on what, at the time, was considered to be the end of his professional career. 'He [coach Steve McClaren] called me when I was getting on a plane to America. It was out of the blue... I was angry and disappointed when I got off the phone. It surprised me, I was gutted. Playing for England meant everything to me', David said.
But that doesn't mean that he will quit without a fight. As he further explained, he will try to get back on the team as a bet he made with himself some time ago. Meanwhile, he will promote his book and his fragrance, play soccer with the members of his soccer academy for kids and so on and so forth...
