Dave Cox, the leader of the MercurySteam studio, says that his team is at the moment working on a future game project that will only be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft.

The company no longer has plans to create titles that are delivered on the Wii U from Nintendo, mainly because it lacks a solid install base, according to Gamespot.

Cox is unwilling to offer details on MercurySteam’s new title, but he says it will be very different from the Lords of Shadow series, using some of the ideas that they prototyped before but could not implement in other games.

When the Wii U was introduced, it attracted support from a number of third parties that were impressed with its improved hardware.

Since then, most have abandoned the Nintendo platform because it does not manage to actually sell units.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be offered on February 25 in the US and three days later in Europe on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC.
