If they can’t be together as spouses, they will make it work as parents

After Madonna announced her divorce from British director Guy Ritchie last year, putting an end to an eight-year marriage, speculation ran rampant as to the reasons behind such a decision. One of the most circulated theory was that she was too controlling, which made things impossible at home. Now, it seems that the two have managed to put all this aside for the sake of the children, after fervent pleas coming from 12-year-old Lourdes.

A source close to the former couple spoke to the media and revealed that Lourdes made the two come together again, in the hope of finding a way to continue to be good parents to their three children. Apparently, it was the budding actress that kept begging them not to be “mean” to each other, and to keep the divorce as friendly as possible for the sake of the children.

“They’re working very hard to have an amicable divorce, because Lourdes came to them begging, ‘Please don't be mean to each other.’ Then she told them she wanted everything to be as friendly as possible.” the spy told the New York Daily News publication. “Madonna and Guy are getting along better than they have in over a year. Their separation has had a positive effect on their relationship as parents.” the source further add, thus also offering an explanation for Guy’s repeated visits at Madonna’s New York apartment.

The same spy also claimed that Lourdes was not the only one to have made this possible, as fellow Kabbalah followers also prompted the singer to seek a reconciliation of sorts. For once, the cult does not believe in, and neither encourages divorce, so all of Madonna’s friends are now said to be “pushing for them to reunite or, at the very least, maintain a solid friendship.”

Madonna and Guy Ritchie currently share the custody of 12-year-old Lourdes, 8-year-old Rocco and adopted David Banda, aged 3. A definitive divorce settlement between the two has not yet been reached.
