The Datsun finally returns after the brand has been lying dormant for the last three decades. Nissan is now aiming the much cheaper vehicle at emerging markets.

The Datsun GO, a 5-door supermini/subcompact, was introduced to the Indian market today, autoevolution writes.

The announcement was made by Carlos Ghosn, chairman of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, and Vincent Cobee, brand head of Datsun.

The vehicle's name is reminiscent of the first car Nissan ever made, the DAT GO. The ad featured above gives you a first glimpse at the model, which has been built on a slightly modified Micra platform.

The model will be made available next year and it will cost around 400,000 rupees ($6,700 / €5,100). Next on the Nissan’s target list will be the Russian, South African and Indonesian markets.
