Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And love really does conquer all: Tom Clifford and Janine Walker, who met via Britain’s first dating agency for the “aesthetically challenged,” are now engaged.
Tom says he has a face that make little children run for their mommas, but Janine describes him as “her prince.” The two plan to be married this December.
They met, as noted above, on TheUglyBugBall, the first online agency that helps “ugly” people find true love. After a whirlwind romance, they now plan to be married,
The Telegraph informs.
Though they met just a month ago and have been on about 4 dates since then, Tom and Janine believe what they have is real love, wherefrom the decision to become husband and wife.
“Now the pair, who enjoyed a mutual love of junk food and TV dinners, are planning a winter wedding near their respective homes in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire,” The Telegraph says.
What they also have in common is the fact that they can relate to each other, with Tom saying that, by the time he met Janine, he’d grown accustomed to women making fun of his looks and not even considering him for a date.
“I’ve been a joke to women for years because of the way I look. I always thought that I was too ugly to meet Mrs. Right but my life changed when I met Janine,” Tom says.
He also sees more in her than her “great personality,” the only thing she lists as a quality she can be proud of. To Tom, Janine is gorgeous.
“She’s beautiful and I love her in every possible way. I still can’t believe this is happening,” he says, beaming with joy.
Janine feels the same, while also admitting that, while Tom may be no Prince Charming by the book, he’s
her Prince Charming – and, in the end, that’s all that matters.
“I appreciate that Tom isn’t Brad Pitt, but then I’m no Angelina Jolie either. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and to me Tom’s the perfect, handsome prince,” Janine says.
“I’m just so pleased to have been able to meet him, and I’m head-over-heels in love,” she adds.
