Datawind, the company behind the budget Aakash tablets, currently has a varied array of wallet-friendly slates on the Indian market, which in theory anyone out there could afford.

Now the company has added a new tablet, the UbiSlate 7CZ, in its official store, selling it for the price of Rs 5,999 / $97 / €71.

The new UbiSlate 7CZ has a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen TFT LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and draws life from a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor combined with 1GB of RAM plus 8GB of internal memory.

The device also runs Android 4.2 out of the box, so owners will have access to the Google Play Store, Google Search, Gmail or GTalk.

Other functions include dual cameras (2MP on the back and 0.3 in front) Wi-Fi, 3G (via dongle), Bluetooth, HDMI, microUSB and a SIM card slot (which means you can place phone calls).

Bottom line is that the slate offers some decent specifications and I can see why it will appeal to the average user, so if you're interested, you can get yours now.
