St. Edward Enterprises has updated its GPS application, DashCam, which combines the rear-facing camera of the iPhone, Google Maps, and GPS to allow the user to record driving and see the speed, average speed, and distance they’re traveling. The developer is now selling DashCam at a 'fraction' of its orriginal price.

A combination of Google Maps and iPhone AGPS, DashCam tracks each point traveled on the map and shows it in the red highlighted line overlaid on top of the Google Maps display.

The driver’s starting location is shown as a green pin. The ending location is marked red, while the current location is represented by a blue dot.

As the app displays speed, average speed, distance, and time, the video recording resolution can be adjusted in the Settings page via three modes -  high, medium, and low.

Those who are wielding an iPhone 4 with a Retina display can record the video at 720p resolution (high).

Recording can be done in landscape or portrait view, and the user can share the video via YouTube, Facebook, Email, and AirPlay enabled devices. Alternately, the footage can be saved for later viewing on the device.

A complete list of changes delivered in DashCam 2.0 can be found below:
