9-inch PC cube gets all the official seals, has a price to run away from

One would think a small form factor PC would have a low price, but that's definitely not even close to being the case with the DarwinMachine Type 339.

Conceived by architect and racecar designer Matthew Kim, it is something like a cube, though not really a perfect cube, with a size of 9.5 x 9.5 x 8 inches (241 x 241 x 203 mm).

An Intel Core i5 CPU (Core i5-2400S) is joined by an AMD Radeon HD 6570 graphics card and 4 GB RAM, plus an SSD of 40 GB storage.

There is also a hard disk drive (HDD) of 1 TB, plus an optical disk drive (CD/DVD).

Everything is packed inside “crisp white translucent Ecoresin panels with stainless steel hardware.”

Unfortunately, even though the performance is not all that groundbreaking, the price of the DarwinMachine Type 339 is no small matter: $1,999. At least the cube lights up like a Christmas light (and hopefully, can turn off too).
