He was seconds away from being eaten alive by a huge shark

“Extreme cage-diving” that's how this incredibly dangerous idea is now called, after a 27-year-old decided to swim with sharks while “protected” by something like a bird cage.

Shaun Harrington is now being voted for the Darwin awards, together with other uninspired adrenaline junkies that risked their lives and luckily survived to become an Internet sensation. The man filmed his entire stunt that went viral on social media sites.

His very close encounter with death, in the shape of a shark, happened in the sea off Coolangatta, Australia's Gold Coast. He placed a bird cage on his upper body part and jumped in the water, just to be freaked out by a huge shark that actually touched him while he was trying to get to safety back in the boat.

His amusing attempt of a joke backfired incredibly, giving him a dose of panic enough to keep him from attempting similar stunts too soon. Shaun himself admitted to that being the dumbest thing he'd ever done. Good job, mate!
