But the lumpy charger brick might be headed for extinction soon. The FINsix startup (former MIT project) has created the Dart micro notebook charger, a shrunken alternative to what's currently available today.
The Dart is a tiny, lightweight 65W laptop adapter that arrives complete with a 2.1 amp USB charger built-in for charging a smartphone/tablet at the same time.
Furthermore, Dart eliminates the annoying mid-cord box and takes up only a single socket spot. The new chargers are compatible with every major brand.
Moreover, the Dart is supposed to run pretty cool, as opposed to the usual charging brick that heats up like a frying pan.
Early pledges on Kickstarters for Dart (not MacBook Compatible) start at $79 / €57. For this amount of money, early adopters will get to pick their coloring option from blue, magenta, silver, gunmetal or orange.
