The game has two very serious errors affecting characters and connectivity

Maxis-developed and Electronic Arts-published video game Darkspore is no longer available on the Steam digital distribution from Valve after many players have complained that they are unable to connect to the game after buying it.

Apparently, the errors started affecting the community about one year ago, but only recently have they become so widespread that the game was deemed unplayable.

When a player cannot connect to the core Darkspore servers, they are unable to log in or play and they receive a 7300 error code.

The bug has been tracked for some time on the official forums and a moderator is implying that Maxis and Electronic Arts currently have no plans to fix it via a patch.

He states, “Error has gone unfixed. Likelihood of it being fixed is zero. Sorry guys & girls.”

The 7300 error has already made Darkspore hard to enjoy and last month, those who still played it were also affected by a new problem, codenamed 3.

It’s appearance meant that there was no way to edit already existing characters or to create new ones, which severely limited the options for players who did not level up their avatars.

Darkspore still appears on Steam if someone searches for it, but users of the service are unable to actually access its product page and cannot buy it anymore.

Publisher Electronic Arts has not yet offered any official comment on the removal of the game.

It is still available on its own Origin digital distribution service.

Darkspore was first launched in 2011 and represented an action role-playing game take on the Spore strategy experience that Will Wright designed.

For now, it is unclear whether Electronic Arts has plans to use the franchise in the future in any way or whether it has been abandoned because it failed to get a solid fan base.
