The former Vigil Games team wants to own the IP they worked on for some time

Crytek USA boss David Adams, the former general manager of Vigil Games, has revealed that he's planning to make a bid for the Darksiders property at the upcoming THQ auction, as he doesn’t want the IP to fall into the hands of other companies.

The Darksiders franchise has delivered some great experiences and the latest title, last year's Darksiders 2, improved many aspects of its predecessor.

Due to THQ's bankruptcy, the publisher was forced to sell its properties and studios and, unfortunately, no company was interested in neither the Darksiders brand nor Vigil Games, its developer.

While the studio shut down, the team was quickly hired by independent dev Crytek and formed a new division called Crytek USA, led by Vigil GM David Adams.

Despite Crytek saying that it won't get the Darksiders brand because it has no interest in it, Adams wrote on Twitter saying that he wants to make a bid for the property after working on it for quite some time.

As of yet, it's unclear whether Adams is acting alone or on behalf of Crytek, but it's great to hear that the Darksiders brand might return to its creators.
