The third and final DLC chapter for From Software's action role-playing game Dark Souls 2, Crown of the Ivory King, has been delayed.

The developer has announced the news without providing a reason, and publisher Bandai Namco has not offered any explanation for the delay either.

The previous installments in The Lost Crowns Trilogy episodic downloadable content pack, Crown of the Sunken King and Crown of the Old Iron King, are available both standalone as well as bunched together with the upcoming one in the season pass.

All three episodes bring new monsters, new challenges and new weapons, as well as new locations to visit, expanding the world of Drangleic and offering you another chance to figure out what's going on and to come to terms with your nature.

The final installment in the mini-series will see players venture to a frozen, desolate land where they will face the game's greatest perils yet. But they won't have to face the difficult challenges alone, as they will benefit from the help of various companions that they can recruit, for the first time in the series.

Crown of the Ivory King, originally slated for release on September 24, will now arrive a bit later, on September 30 on Steam for PC and Xbox Live for Xbox 360, and will hit the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 on October 1.
