The PC version of the game has improved texture resolutions as well

From Software's Dark Souls II has been confirmed to arrive on PC on April 25. The game has already been released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but fans have been a bit disappointed that Dark Souls II does not deliver the graphics experience that the developer promised initially.

The reasons behind the console downgrade have recently been explained by From Software in an official statement: “throughout the game development process, a game is constantly being balanced not only in game playability, but also in the realm of resource management.”

However, From Software confirmed several weeks ago that the PC version of Dark Souls II would feature improved texture resolutions and would run at increased frame rate in comparison with the console version.

Still, that didn't stop the developer from removing the high-resolution screenshots published on the Steam Store page a week ago. Many fans have since thought that the compromise that From Software was willing to do with the console version of Dark Souls II in order to make sure it was playable will affect the PC version as well.

Well, it appears that things are a bit different, as new details on Dark Souls II for PC have just emerged on NeoGaf's forums.

The dedicated topic contains lots of the fans’ opinions and their expectations from the PC version of Dark Souls II, but one user in particular claims to have some inside information about the graphics options included.

It looks like NeoGaf forum user Gbraga has recently posted a short list of features that are now included in Dark Souls II for PC. The information comes from one of his/her friends, who has access to an early version of the game.

Given the fact that the embargo has yet to be lifted, no actual images have been leaked yet, but we suspect that they will emerge in the coming days.

Anyway, according to Gbraga, Dark Souls II for PC will certainly run at 1080p and 60fps. It will come with several graphics options like textures, shadows, effects, AA, AO, blur, anisotropic filtering, water quality, depth of field and more.

In addition, developers have also added an option that will automatically lower the PC's graphics in order to maintain performance, so that the game is playable.

One last piece of information provided by Gbraga is the fact that the game has been optimized very well, as it offers really fast loading times. Apparently, players “don't even have time to read an entire tip” before the game loads the next scene.
