The development team at From Software and publisher Namco Bandai Games announce that they are planning to launch a closed beta stage for their upcoming Dark Souls II on October 5 of this year.

The testing period will be available for gamers in both North America and Europe and they will have to pay attention to the official Facebook page of the game in order to get information on how to register and how the selection process will work.

The team states, "The depth of the Dark Souls II Closed-Beta experience will truly test players’ skill, intestinal fortitude, and their sheer will to survive."

The two companies are planning to show those who take part in the beta a new area of the game, as well as new enemies and mechanics.

Dark Souls II will be launched worldwide in March 2014 on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC.
