The development team at From Software and publisher Namco Bandai announce that they will take down the servers for their title Dark Souls in the coming days in order to perform some much-needed maintenance.

North American players will be unable to connect to the servers starting with 6 PM Pacific Daylight Time on May 8, European players will face the same situation on May 9 at 3 AM CET, while Japanese gamers will also be affected starting May 9 at 10 AM JST.

The team states, “We appreciate your patience and understanding as we perform this periodical maintenance and update to the Dark Souls online game servers.”

At the moment, the From Software team is working on Dark Souls 2, which will upgrade the core mechanics of the series and will be launched on the PC and current-generation consoles.
