It will be announced at E3 2015 in less than two weeks

There was a rumor running around earlier this week that From Software would be announcing the sequel to the amazing, yet torturous Dark Souls 2 at E3 2015, which happens in less than two weeks.

Unfortunately, the information came without any evidence in the form of gameplay videos or even screenshots, so many did not believe it.

Well, it looks like we now have the first Dark Souls 3 screenshots, courtesy of The Know. Not only that, but the folks leaking this information also have some details on the game itself.

First of all, Dark Souls 3 is said to be released in 2016 on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, but not on the PC.

Apparently, From Software did list a PC version but as “negotiable,” which means that it will probably depend on how well the console version will sell and if they feel like it (which, in turn, likely depends on the level of demand from PC gamers).

10 playable classes right from the start

Moving on to actual information from the game, the folks at The Know claim that Dark Souls 3 will now allow players to summon not one, but up to 4 other players to help them in boss fights.

Also, there will be 10 playable classes and all of them will be available from the start. Furthermore, there will be 45 new enemies and 15 new bosses, that is, in addition to the bosses and monsters that appear in the previous games.

There will also be 100 new weapons, and 40 new armor sets will be included in Dark Souls 3, not counting the ones from the previous Dark Souls games. Dark Souls 3 will also have more than 250 new items, among which rings, spells, and consumables.

Dark Souls 3 will have 60 minutes of cutscenes, mostly in-engine rather than pre-rendered. The game will have around 12 areas, and the amount of content should be similar to that of the original Dark Souls.

Boss battles will be influenced by a “Heat Up” factor

The third installment in the series will also change the way players interact with each other. So, instead of using the usual white signs, players will have to participate in “Sacrifice Ceremonies.”

You can drag a body wherever you want, and after performing a sacrificing ritual, you will then be able to visit other player's world. However, by doing that, you will be marked and made a target for other players. Basically, a bounty will be put on your head.

The light sources have been changed, along with enemy layouts and bosses. Another gameplay mechanics that we have info on is boss battles.

Boss battles in Dark Souls 3 will be influenced by something called “Heat Up,” which is said to completely change how players battle bosses based on undescribed factors.

This is all the info related to the unannounced Dark Souls 3, but don't forget to check out the video below for those screenshots.
