Yui Tanimura, the director working on Dark Souls 2, believes that he can leave his own mark on the game by putting a lot of work into balancing the game world and making sure the players get access to a challenging experience.

Speaking to Game Informer the developer states, “I intend to spend a lot of my time trying to balance placements of the enemies, the parameters of the enemies so that players can face that difficulty, face those challenges, but also conquer enough to sense that satisfaction.”

The first Dark Souls was developed under the leadership of Hidetaka Miyazaki, who also worked on spiritual predecessor Demon’s Souls.

Tanimura wants to make sure that he delivers a game that reflects the core ideas of the game universe.

Dark Souls 2 will be out on the PC and current-gen consoles in March of 2014.
