A brand new report has appeared online saying that Dark Souls 2 on the PC has been delayed by one week and is now scheduled to debut on May 2 worldwide.

Dark Souls 2 was launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms in March and developer From Software alongside publisher Bandai Namco pledged to release the PC edition at the end of April.

The game's PC version has since been the target of plenty of rumors in regards to performance and visual quality, but quite a lot of PC users are still looking forward to the challenging role-playing game.

Now, according to GKN, it seems that they'll have to wait a bit more until getting their hands on Dark Souls 2.

The website claims, via a retailer notice, that Dark Souls 2's PC release has been pushed back for one week.

As such, the game is going to actually launch on the service on May 2, missing the April 25 initial release date.

No actual details have been offered, so it's unclear just why From Software and Bandai Namco took the decision.

Amazon UK has also sent us an email saying that the release of Dark Souls 2 has been pushed back, but the retailer gives a loose May 6 - May 14 release period.

Expect an official statement about the delay in the very near future. Until then, treat this as a rumor.

Update: Bandai Namco has confirmed that only the Dark Souls 2 boxed copies in the UK have been delayed to May 2 due to a manufacturing error. The game will appear on April 25 in the rest of the world.
