Bandai Namco has officially clarified rumors about Dark Souls 2's delay on the PC platform, confirming that only the retail version in the UK has been pushed back to May 2 due to a manufacturing issue and that the game is still set to arrive digitally on April 25.

Dark Souls 2 launched on the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms back in late March and Bandai Namco together with developer From Software confirmed that the PC edition would launch at the end of April.

Unfortunately, yesterday it seemed that another delay had been made, when reports appeared claiming that the title was going to be released on May 2, not on April 25.

Bandai Namco has issued a statement to Eurogamer and confirmed that such a delay is real but only affects the retail version of Dark Souls 2 on PC in the UK.

The boxed copies of the game in other parts of the world, as well as the digital ones globally, will still be released on April 25.

Apparently, a manufacturing issue has affected the game in the UK and the discs need to be reprinted.

As such, while it's unfortunate for UK gamers who like to have boxed copies of their titles, it's good to hear that the game is still set to appear on April 25.
