Dark Cloud is a videogame developed by Level 5 Inc. and published by Sony Computer Entertainment Incorporated. Created exclusively for the PlayStation 2 console from Sony, it was released in December 2000. The title is classed as an action and role playing game, played from a third person perspective.

Over 400 years ago, as a war between the Eastern Continent and the Western Wizard Army raged on, the world was destroyed because a great evil power was unleashed. Now, the power-hungry and fiendish General Flag is getting ready to launch a ritual, with the purpose of awakening this evil once more, under the guise of the Dark Genie.

The peaceful village of Norune is the first victim of the embodiment of this evil. Toan, the son of the great hero Ada, is the only one to survive the attack, and the Spirit King tells him that Atla spheres hold all his loved ones. In order to set them free, the boy must learn to wield a glove, called the Atlamillia, and defeat the dark powers.

Toan will fight his way through randomly-generated dungeons, and will have to battle against monsters, while trying to get his hands on the Atla spheres. As the game progresses, other characters will offer their help to Toan, and will join his party. All of them can equip items, and they will also get various objects and power-ups that can enhance their fighting abilities. The final aim of the game is to recover all the Atla spheres in order to rebuild the village of Norune.

Disappearing Rando

Once you get to Queens, Rando shows you how to get to the shipwreck. If you go back into his store, you will notice that he is standing in front of the counter in the front room. Enter the back room (where the boat is located). Press R2 to enter first-person view. Look through the window between the two rooms, and Rando is no longer there.

Disappearing Toan

In the Shipwreck area, the General Fish (the fish that takes Toan to the back floors) puts Toan in his mouth for transportation. However, while he is taking you to the back floor, he has his mouth open and you can see that Toan is not there.

Flying and water breathing Toan

In Queens, go to the dock. You will see a small boat by the side of Rando's store near the submarine. Walk over to the boat and keep pushing towards it. Walk around it until you fall off the dock. If done correctly, you will walk into the space between the building and the boat under the dock. A few steps and you will begin falling through the bottom and come back out from the top. If you move Toan as he is falling, you can move him over the water. Move him and he will stop under the water, where you can look around and see the bottom of the submarine. You will also see the outline of Queens. Depending on where you stop moving Toan will determine whether you land on land or in the water. To exit, select "Move to other areas."
