Surfers in Pennsylvania don't let a little thing like a hurricane stop them

Surfers in Pittsburgh aren't letting superstorm Sandy crash their plans. In fact, it seems as though the hurricane hasn't done much damage in Northwest Pennsylvania, but it has created ideal surf conditions on lake Erie.

This reporter caught surfing enthusiasts Ryan Murphy and Tyler Rich, both 20 years old, lake surfing off the Presque Isle State Park beach, just yesterday, October 30.

According to Wikipedia, one can only surf on a lake if the wind switches offshore, which is why lake surfers are often trying to catch any storm they can.

Surfboards are more difficult to manage in these conditions, as high winds turn waves rougher. Surfers experience an increase in drag while paddling on a lake. More often than not, they do not have a lot of time to paddle between waves.
