Following the violent club brawl of the other night, where two yet unidentified women took glamour model Danielle Lloyd and hurled her body onto a table of drinks, the star was warned by doctors she could have lost her leg because of the massive blood loss she sustained, The Sun informs. Since being rushed to the hospital, the model has had surgery on her leg and stitches on a serious back wound, and reportedly came this close to losing it, a source says for the publication.

Lloyd was involved in a very violent altercation on Monday night at London club Crystal, which ended with her laying on the pavement outside, literally covered in blood, as friends were trying to help her out to take her to the hospital. According to the model’s publicist, the attack was completely unprovoked and could have had disastrous consequences for Danielle, who suffered multiple lacerations, wounds and bruises.

In fact, a source says, the cuts she sustained were so serious they almost cost her her leg. “Danielle was told she was lucky not to have lost her leg.” says a friend of the star for the British tabloid. Elliot Sorene, a consultant in trauma and orthopedic surgery, agrees that the model came very close to being scarred for life. “I treated Miss Lloyd for a deep laceration to her left calf. Whilst the whole experience for Miss Lloyd was exceptionally unfortunate, she is very lucky that the major blood vessels and arteries were not involved, otherwise she would have been left permanently paralyzed.” Sorene explains for the same publication.

Just hours ago, Lloyd was seen leaving the hospital in the company of her boyfriend Jamie O’Hara, who was with her also on the night of the attack. Reports in the British media say that Danielle had bandages on her leg and arms, and was walking painfully in crutches. She is now said to be heading home for a brief while, after which she will start a program of intense physiotherapy to regain the full use of her leg.

In the meanwhile, her publicist says one of the girls who attacked her landed on top of her on the table of drinks, which caused the many cuts on her body. Police are now investigating the case, and Danielle Lloyd herself is said to be looking to press charges.
