In a recent interview to promote the upcoming installment in the “Harry Potter” film franchise, actor Daniel Radcliffe dished some details on what it was like to kiss his co-star and good friend Emma Watson – and it was an experience far from what anyone might have expected.

As fans must know, a smooch between the two has been coming all along and, it would seem, the upcoming installment will more than please fans patiently waiting for it so far.

Speaking about the kiss on Daybreak (as cited by The Sun), Radcliffe revealed that even he was surprised by how passionate it was, since he never expected Emma to be this way – at least, not with him.

“It was, wasn’t it?” Dan says when asked about the “full” smooch. “I was ambushed by that! That was incredible, I was not expecting that,” the actor adds.

He was taken by surprise because, knowing Emma and, more importantly, knowing the backstory of the two characters, he expected it to be different – more tender, for instance.

“I always thought it was going to be this soft sensual sort of moment and suddenly there was this vigorous kissing happening to me,” Daniel revealed.

Which, of course, is not to say she didn’t enjoy the moment. Quite on the contrary, he explains.

“She is a bit of an animal, she is, she was great. But then I’m not complaining, there are tens of thousands of men that would cut off limbs to be in that position,” Radcliffe says.

However, they did meet with some difficulty when shooting the scene as Rupert Grint actually had to be invited to leave the set because he couldn’t stop giggling at the sight of the two making out.

“Rupert actually had to leave set because he was laughing that much,” Daniel explains. In the same interview, he also mentions that he’s the happiest with this film, as compared to the others in the series, because it’s “very different.”

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” is out in theaters starting November 19. “Part II” drops in 3D on July 15 2011.
