He didn’t even offer an explanation, left producers scrambling, says report

Until hours ago, Daniel Craig was set to appear in the courtroom drama “The Whole Truth,” directed by Courtney Hunt and co-starring Renee Zellweger and Kenneth Choi. He dropped out of the project unexpectedly and without as much as an explanation for the sudden departure.

Coming Soon reports on the new development in the story, noting that producers Atlas Entertainment and Likely Story are now left scrambling for a replacement for Craig, who was supposed to play lead.

To make matters even worse, shooting was supposed to start in almost a week’s time in Boston, so if there’s ever a time to speak of a change of heart in the 11th hour, this is probably it.

“The production has been pushed back three weeks to look for another actor to play the district attorney role vacated by Craig,” the movie-oriented publication writes.

Clearly, what we’ve heard of this so far doesn’t paint Daniel in a positive light because it’s extremely unprofessional to just bow out of a project days before it’s supposed to get rolling. Then again, we don’t know all the factors in the equation – yet.

Craig’s IMDB page has already been updated not to include “The Whole Truth” anymore. Right now, it looks like he’ll be enjoying plenty of vacation time because his future projects include just 3 movies for the next couple of years: “The Girl Who Played with Fire,” which might not happen at all, and “James Bond 25” and “James Bond 26.”
