Not even James Bond is indestructible. Daniel Craig is taking some time off the production of the latest installment in the new 007 franchise, “SPECTRE,” after undergoing surgery to repair an older injury sustained on set.

In a statement to BBC News, the studio confirms the intervention and offers assurances to fans that the release schedule won’t be impacted.

“During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22 at Pinewood,” the statement says. It also describes the injury as minor.

Thanks for former Bond actor Sir Roger Moore, we know that the injury isn’t exactly new: back in March, he tweeted about Craig’s sprained knee and offered his services to replace him in the role in case he would be rendered unable to continue shooting.

“SPECTRE” sees director Sam Mendes return at the helm (he also directed the critically acclaimed “Skyfall,” the previous installment), with a release date set for December 2015. Appearing opposite Craig will be “Bond woman” Monica Bellucci, Bond girl Lea Seydoux, and Dave Bautista, and older members of the cast Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw.
