Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are head over heels in love but they knew for months that they were going to get married, claims a new report. Word of their nuptials may have come as a surprise, but the ceremony was planned in advance.

Sources close to the couple are telling the latest print issue of Us Weekly (story via here) that Daniel and Rachel had been planning the intimate ceremony that took place last week for months.

Granted, at the time they became romantically involved, they had just ended long engagements to their current partners, but they were actually very quick to tie the knot.

It’s because they are in love and know that the beautiful relationship they have stands good chances of being for life, friends say.

“The wedding had been planned for a while. It wasn’t sudden,” an unnamed source explains.

“Months ago, Daniel was saying that Rachel would become his wife. Friends have never seen him like this,” the same insider goes on to say.

Shortly after they started dating, they knew they would end up walking down the aisle – and they could hardly wait for the day to come.

Their friends too are convinced that their union will stand the test of time. “They’re completely in love!” one of them gushes for the same publication.

Word of the wedding got out over the weekend. Besides the bride and groom, the wedding party only included 4 other people, as we also informed you at the time: Daniel’s daughter and Rachel’s son, and two family friends who were also witnesses.

“Daniel and Rachel insisted on having a small, quiet wedding. They are madly in love and couldn’t wait to be husband and wife – but they wanted minimum fuss,” an insider told the US media about the secret ceremony.

Daniel and Rachel had known each other for years before they became romantically involved on the set of “Dream House” last year. The film is out later this year.
