A little over two years ago, the James Bond franchise was considered dead in the water because it could not get financing for its 23rd installment. Not only is it coming out this year (“Skyfall”) but, according to Deadline, two more films are in the pipeline.

Daniel Craig is already locked in his contract for the 24th and 25th installments, which should be coming out regardless of how “Skyfall” performs this fall – not that there’s even the slightest chance for it not to perform as expected.

“We’ve confirmed that the long-running James Bond franchise is alive and well through at least the 25th installment,” Deadline reports.

“The current 007 leading man Daniel Craig will star in at least two more Eon Productions films. And Sony Pictures, which badly wanted back in the Bond business after backing Craig in Casino Royale (2006), Quantum Of Solace (2008) and the upcoming Sam Mendes-directed Skyfall (2012), is on board to co-finance those same 24th and 25th films in the series,” the same media outlet reports.

With five Bond movies under his belt, Craig will become the 3rd longest serving Bond in the history of the time-enduring film franchise.
