Since the Macworld Expo 2011 Edition was just held, it makes sense that those who got recognition would proudly announce their achievements, and Dane-Elec has done just that, lauding tis my-Ditto Key.

Dane-Elec's my Ditto key is part of "The Network Server for Everyone," essentially a mass market Home Network and VPN product.

Basically, it is a solution composed of three products, their combined goal being to offer home networks a secure, central storage solution capable of connecting to multiple computers, digital cameras, MP3 players or other consumer electronics at once.

It is this solution that earned the "Best of Show" award at Macworld Expo 2011, overcoming competition from thousands of other products.

One of the so-called 'components' of the my-Ditto solution (which the Key is a part of) is the my-Ditto Home Server, essentially a NAS (network-attached storage) device with plug-and-play functionality. It is made for Apple Mac OS X 10.5 and higher operating systems.

The second item is the my-Ditto Key itself, a password-protected USB key which remotely connects consumers directly to their home servers through a proprietary UPnP network instead of third-party, cloud-based ones (which are more expensive anyway).

It should probably be noted that the my-Ditto Key is primarily meant to allow owners to easily access files from the server described above.

The third item is the my-Ditto Mobile Application, which offers a peer-to-peer VPN connection through the iPhone, iTouch or iPad devices.

"Today's connected consumers love the freedom and flexibility of sharing documents and digital content through one centralized location but typically can't cope with the complicated network solutions that were available before my-Ditto," said Sherry Chapman, Director at Dane-Elec.

"my-Ditto is a three-step, 'set it and forget it' home network solution that lets users easily and securely share digital content in or out of the home."
