14 DAY TRIAL // Bill Nye the Science Guy, perhaps one of the most popular celebrities on the 17th season of ABC’s hit competition Dancing With the Stars, will not be back for next week to entertain us with his humor, courage, and dancing.
He’s just been voted off the show after scoring a disappointing 16 points on Hollywood Week for his robot Jazz dance, which you can see embedded above.
Loyal fans of the show must know that, last week, Nye injured himself during the routine and had a partially torn ligament. He practically danced his last dance on one foot, as the judges also noticed.
But, while he had everyone’s admiration and words of praise, technically, his Jazz wasn’t too much of a Jazz dance, so they gave him a poor score.
Before the show, Nye’s doctor had told him that “short of a wheelchair I wouldn't recommend any sort of dancing next week.” He went ahead and gave it his best, saying that “you do what you can with the hand you’re dealt.”
I know I’m not alone in saying Bill will be missed.
