Not content with losing pounds using Wii Fit? Does the constant exercising on the balance board scare you? Are you afraid that you could fall and damage your home? Are you afraid that you might kill the cat? Are you one of the people fearing the fact that more Balance Board powered titles are coming to threaten your fitness level? Then, we have big news for you!

Helix is a new game from Ghostfire and it will be released today on the WiiWare download service which is offered to developers and to users by Nintendo. You will need to log on to WiiWare and shell out 1,000 Wii Points, which is about 10 dollars, to get the game onto the console.

The game will use the Wiimote and the Nunchuk to let you perform over 30 dance gestures, some pretty simple and some very complex, as the 30 songs included in the game are played in the background. The game creates a dynamic movement set based on the tracks and as you perform the moves and dance around, surplus kilos will melt to the addictive techno beats. The developers are not saying whether they plan to release new tracks for the game.

Ed Roman, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Ghostfire Games, has stated that "Helix is not only fun, it's a great workout. You can really burn some calories playing this game. You tend to lose yourself playing the game and forget that you're even getting a workout, because the gameplay is compelling".

The main draw of the game is that it's simple to get and easy to play. The complexity of the yoga and balance exercises of other titles, like Wii Fit, do not get into the way of having fun, so the game might prove to be a nice alternative for those who want a quick and interesting way to work out.
