If you like dancing competitions, you’re probably aware that the international competition known as Dance Grand Prix Europe is set to start soon. Dancers from all over the world are expected to attend the competition that’s scheduled to take place between June 12 and June 16 in Spain.

Symantec experts report that scammers are also taking advantage of the opportunity. They’ve started sending out bogus emails designed to lure users to a fake Dance Grand Prix Europe 2013 website.

Potential victims are told that they can attend if they pay a “little fee.”

To make everything more legitimate-looking, the phony website almost perfectly replicates the real one. In addition, a widget is placed on the fake site to make it appear as if a large number of users are visiting it.

Ultimately, the crooks hope to convince dance enthusiasts to hand over their personal and financial information, which they can use for various malicious purposes.

Here are some of the subject lines of the scammy emails. Beware!
