In response to our article from yesterday related to the battle between Sony and the British retailers, Dan Morelle, Managing Director of ElectricBirdLand , the man who has the courage to stand up against Sony, has sent us via e-mail some of his thoughts on the subject and he agreed to answer some of our questions.
Here are the key points of our discussion:
"Sony Computer Entertainment is well known for fudged product launches and this is another perfect example."
"The threat of legal action is not because Sony is concerned about the impact that small importers like us will have on its brand or sales - it's simply because of their inability to implement something so vital to the success of its new product."
"We are not trying to belittle the Sony brand or damage any future sales as demand for the product is so great. All we offer is the one thing Sony has failed to do, and that is to give the customer exactly what they want, when they want it."
Mr. Morelle's opinion is that "Although PSP is a great product, Sony is acting like a playground bully" and "European gamers should not have to wait as long as the rest of the world for the latest games consoles."
He has also expressed his commitment in the battle with PSP's producer. "We will fight Sony in the High Court if necessary", Morrelle said.
It seems gamers are not indifferent to this matter, ElectricBirdLand's Managing Director telling us that: "The support I have received in the last 24 hours from the gaming community has been tremendous."
If you have questions or you want to express your support for Mr. Morelle, you can post them here. We are positive that he will read them and maybe even answer some.
