Dame Helen Mirren was perhaps one of the most delightful surprises in the 2010 action movie “RED,” which stood for “Retired, Extremely Dangerous.” She did a sequel for it in 2013, but it seems that it only whetted her appetite for insane action movies.

The 69-year-old Oscar-winner wants something bigger and more insane for her next foray into the genre, and she knows just the movie franchise that would fit the bill, she reveals to Yahoo! Movies: “Fast & Furious.”

The 7th installment, called simply “Furious 7,” will be out in theaters in April, so she missed the boat on this one. However, she will beg to be considered for the next one.

“I so want to be a mad driver in a Fast and Furious movie,” she says. “My claim to fame is I always do my own driving - I was on Top Gear, and I did [my lap] in a very good time. I keep putting it out there, and they never ask me. I’ll be in Fast and Furious 8.”

She adds that she loves Vin Diesel, whom she considers “brilliant,” and that he’s one of the reason she wants to be in the franchise. The other one would be the driving: apparently, Mirren is crazy about that.

“Furious 7” adds new faces to the already-famous cast with Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Ronda Rousey and Tony Jaa. Getting Helen Mirren would top everything else they have ready for fans in the 7th film, no doubt.

Here’s a sample of the Oscar-winning being a tough cookie in “RED 2.”
