“Fifty Shades of Grey” opens in theaters worldwide next month, and if you’re one of the millions of people / women who read and loved the trilogy of novels it’s based on, penned by author E.L. James, you will love this: The Weeknd has released the video for “You Earned It” and it’s a perfect match for the film.

“You Earned It” is included on the official “Fifty Shades” OST, alongside “Where You Belong” from the same artist, and songs from Ellie Goulding, Beyonce, Sia and Jessie Ware.

But we need to talk about the video for “You Earned It” more, because it also includes an appearance by none other than the film’s leading lady, aka Dakota Johnson, aka Anastasia Steele. Just like we should expect to see her at least in one scene in the movie, here too she is tied up – and hanging from the ceiling, while The Weeknd serenades her.

The video is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, who also helmed the film. To be more in tune with the feel of the movie, it features scantily-clad female dancers in dominatrix-inspired outfits, strutting their stuff on stage for The Weeknd’s viewing pleasure.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” is pretty much “an intense love story” (as per Johnson) with certain BDSM elements. Anastasia Steele (Johnson) plays the ingénue to the mysterious, handsome, rich and very troubled Mr. Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).
