14 DAY TRIAL // Dakota Fanning is, as per public consensus, one of the most down to earth and “serious” actresses of our times. However, that is not to say that she’s not in the least approachable, as she has demonstrated during one of her most recent interviews, when she openly discussed about everything, from her rumored part in the “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon,” to what being an actress meant to her and growing up adoring Britney Spears.
Her acting career is everything for the 15-year-old thespian, as she tells Parade magazine. Moreover, now that she’s in talks for a part in “New Moon,” Dakota admittedly feels like her biggest dream has just come true, especially since she would get to play a deadly vampire, which would mean a step away from her innocent image. This is what acting is all about, Dakota explains.
“It [‘New Moon’] is definitely being discussed but it’s not set in stone. It would be really cool to be a part of ‘Twilight’ if it works out. I’m a big fan. I saw the first movie, but I haven’t read all of the books yet, I’m working on it. I would be a vampire, which could really prove that I can be sweet, little Dakota Fanning and then I can be something different on the screen.” Dakota says.
As for acting allowing her to constantly surprise and keep audiences on their toes, this is just the icing on the cake. “Most people haven’t seen me maybe as grown up as they will in ‘Push.’ But eventually I’m probably going to play the person that you hate. I think that’s the fun part about acting.” the young actress points out.
However, regardless of her maturity and common sense, Dakota too admits to getting starstruck every once in a while. The last time that happened, she recalls, was when she got to meet Britney Spears, her idol while growing up, when she was at a complete loss for words. “I remember when I was very little my idol was Britney Spears. I had just come to California and that’s just who I wanted to meet. So I was in a store and she walked in and my jaw just fell to the floor. I started like sweating. I could not believe that I was meeting her. She told me that I was very cute. And I lost it – I was so excited.” Dakota concludes by saying.
