Dakota Fanning is slowly but with a very steady step making her transition to grownup roles. After the slightly controversial role in “The Runaways,” she is ready for an even bigger challenge: the part of a 17-year-old dying of cancer.

The first trailer for “Now Is Good” has arrived – and you can see it in full above.

Based on the highly successful 2007 novel “Before I Die,” the film chronicles the life of a girl who finds out she's dying of cancer, and who makes a bucket list, of things to do before her time comes.

She crosses paths with the handsome Adam, played by Jeremy Irvine, whom audiences might recognize from Steven Spielberg's more recent blockbuster, “War Horse.”

“Now Is Good” doesn't have an US release date just yet, but it will come out in the UK on May 25, 2012.

One word of advice before seeing it: make sure you bring plenty of handkerchiefs.
