The good Samaritan replaced the sum out of his own pocket

A 19-year-old Dairy Queen manager from Minnesota has helped a blind man getting robbed right in front of him.

When a $20 (€14) bill fell from the man's pocket, another customer picked it up and would not give it back.

"I was extremely confused when she let the man walk by. She just stood there and put it in her purse and I was like, 'Really?'" Joey Prusak recalls.

"She picked it up so quickly that I thought she was going to give it back but she just stood there and waited," he describes the incident.

Prusak, who has been with Dairy Queen for five years, kicked her out. He repaid the money out of his own pocket and presented it to the customer on behalf of Dairy Queen.

"She made a big scene, but I told her I couldn't serve her, so she stormed out," he adds. A customer waiting in line saw the incident and wrote his boss about it, and a co-worker then posted the letter to Facebook.

"Your employee approached the man and took out his wallet and said, 'Sir, on behalf of the Dairy Queen, I would like to give you the $20 (€14) you dropped on the ground as you walked away from the counter," according to the letter, which has not been signed.

It took off, gaining popularity on Reddit. Now, Prusak hopes that Dairy Queen execs will reward him by sponsoring him to buy a NASCAR vehicle. He said he did not contact them, his manager did.

"I didn't expect it to go anywhere. I didn't tell anyone. I didn't tell my boss. I didn't even tell my own parents. [...] A lot of people are saying 'thank you' for what I did. Just telling me that means a lot," he shares.
