Today, October 8, WeatherBug and Mobile Posse announced the availability of the former's weather information on the latter's service. Thus, the info available through WeatherBug (which is the world's leading provider of live and local weather information and services) will be displayed directly on the idle screen of your mobile if you use Mobile Posse's service (which is a leading provider for activating the idle screen with mobile content and advertising).

Anurag Mehta, SVP of Business Development and Sales at Mobile Posse said that "After observing very high levels of engagement and satisfaction from our existing subscribers related to weather content, it made strategic sense for us to team with WeatherBug, the most reliable and accurate weather coverage available, and take this part of our content capability to the next level." Furthermore he added that "This relationship further enhances and enriches our portfolio of advertising-supported content. We are committed to providing enjoyable content for consumers bundled with attractive offers and discounts from brands, thereby facilitating a value exchange."

"We believe the mobile device will soon become the preferred platform for the delivery of on-demand weather information," said Director of Business Development for WeatherBug, Alan George. "We are delighted to be working with Mobile Posse to create advertising opportunities through an easy-to-use idle screen delivery solution."

This should be good news for both Mobile Posse and WeatherBug users, since now they won't have to search the information they need, but simply get it on the idle screen of their mobile devices. Considering the fact that weather is one of the most popular pieces of content on the web and on mobile devices, this mobile service might prove to be both useful and timesaving.
