Upcoming album “Random Access Memories” will also be a major hit

Daft Punk is back and it’s writing history already. “Get Lucky,” the band’s first single in years (the amazing score for “TRON: Legacy” doesn’t count) has set a new streaming record on Spotify, the BBC reports.

In its first day of release, “Get Lucky” had the biggest streaming day for a single in both the US and the UK.

What’s even better, Will Hope of Spotify says, is that Daft Punk’s new album, “Random Access Memories,” will be just as big a hit – which is actually to be expected, if you think about it.

“There was never any doubt that the first original single from Daft Punk in years was going to be one of the biggest debut singles of 2013,” Hope says.

“We expect the album to become one of the biggest, if not the biggest, on Spotify this year,” he adds.

Above is the single, in case you don’t know it yet.
