The man says he merely wanted to teach his son that it's never OK to hit women, many say he actually abused his son

Just last week, a 4-year-old boy identified as Tristan Devine spent a full hour holding a sign that had the following words inscribed on it: “I hit little girls.”

The boy was made to hold this sign by his father, Rob, who got terribly upset when he learned that his son had been hitting his lady classmates at school, Huffington Post informs.

By the looks of it, the little boy was made to stand with the peculiar sign in his hands on the side of a road in the town of Monroe in Michigan, US.

The photo accompanying this article is pretty blurry, but it's not all that difficult to tell that the 4-year-old boy is not exactly having the time of his life. On the contrary, he seems pissed.

The boy's father claims that he only forced his son to stand on the side of the road holding this sign to teach him that women, regardless of their age, must always be respected.

“I want him to know you can't go out and do these things and expect them to go away unnoticed,” the man reportedly told the press in an interview.

However, many argue that this punishment counts as child abuse. This is because, all things considered, the 4-year-old boy most likely felt downright humiliated during the entire hour that he spent holding the sign.
