Despite delivering a superb samba on Monday’s show, Kristin Cavallari is the latest celebrity to be voted off ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. She and Mark Ballas were the strongest performers of the season, but they lacked public support.

Video of their samba, performed to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love,” is below, just so you can see just how great they were.

However, that didn’t matter when it came to last night’s elimination round. Despite consistent high scores and excellent reviews from the judges, Kristin was voted off, as TooFab also reports.

“Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas, who were consistently among the strongest performers, we eliminated after the audience vote. Joining them in the bottom were Hope Solo and her professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya,” says the e-zine.

Loud booing was heard when it was announced that the television star would be leaving the show, and even judge Len Goodman got to his feet to proclaim that “This is truly crazy.”

Though clearly upset and disappointed, Kristin tried to play it cool, focusing solely on the good time she’d had on the show and not on the shocking public decision.

“I’m a little surprised to be honest but I’ve had such a great time and it’s been such an awesome experience,” the reality star said.

Her partner Mark Ballas thanked her for her commitment, and said that she could have achieved more – perhaps even win the mirrorball trophy – had she been given a proper chance.

“I was really proud of Kristin. She had great potential and she killed it last night. I’m honored to be her partner,” he said.

Nine couples are still in the race for the big prize. Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer, Monday’s lowest rating pair, were declared safe after the public vote.
