She said she was determined to prove she was a worthy adversary on Dancing With the Stars, but Elisabetta Canalis’ dreams of ever winning the mirrorball trophy were shattered last night, when viewers’ vote got her booted from the show.

Though doing a decent quickstep on Monday, which earned her and partner Valentino Chmerkovskiy (see the video below for it) a 21 score out of 30, Elisabetta didn’t get enough votes to stay on the show.

On the other hand, Chaz Bono, who was considered most likely to be booted, will get the chance to dance another week, AceShowbiz informs.

“Elisabetta Canalis was sent home in the second week of Dancing with the Stars after just showing that she got a shot at winning the top prize,” the e-zine says of Elisabetta’s pretty decent quickstep.

“The 33-year-old beauty got 21 out 30 for her quickstep on Monday night, which was better than the 15 points she got in the first week, but viewers were apparently not in favor of her since she was in jeopardy with David Arquette on the result show,” the same publication informs.

Speaking about the elimination, Elisabetta chose not to dwell on the negative, saying that she was happy to have had this wonderful experience, one that she would cherish for a very long time.

“For me, it was a gift... it was a great experience,” she said in her heavily accented English, before thanking everyone for helping her last two weeks on the show.

Her partner, though, said that he felt as if he had somehow let her down, in the sense that he didn’t help her win the much coveted top prize.

“I’m very proud of her [Canalis]. I’m sorry I wish I did better for you. I’m really lucky to be here. I appreciate the opportunity,” Val said at the end of the show.

Below is the quickstep that Elisabetta and Val performed on what will be their last time on DWTS.
