Comedian and partner Cheryl Burke are voted off the show, go out with a smile

Another week, another elimination on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. After a show that saw celebrities and their pro dancing partners trying to keep up on the dancefloor with a pair of pros, the time came for comedian D.L. Hughley to say goodbye.

Check out the video above for the moment when he heard his name called out (with my apologies for being of poor quality).

Hughley had been teamed up with Cheryl Burke and, nice to point out, both took the news of the elimination with grace and humor.

Before walking off the stage, the comedian even dished some advice to one of the male judges, Len Goodman, which, he joked, should be enough to help him perform decently.

However, backstage, he told a different story, admitting that, though grateful for the experience, he was relieved to be out of the competition.

“My heart is very sad but my knees are happy as hell. I think we took the ride as long as we could. The days were getting longer…” he said.
