The prices for the standalone DVD players have decreased significantly in the last years and have thus become widely available, but why settle for something common when you can have a monster? Ok, we admit, one of the reasons could be the financial resources. However, we shall assume that money is not a problem here.
Once we've eliminated this delicate problem, allow us to present you one of the most generous DVD recorders on the market.
The device comes from Pioneer and it's called DVR-DT100 (via
akihabaranews). We say that it's generous because it has an 800GB hard drive which can store up to 92 hours of content. Despite this amount, Pioneer is not the leader in this field, Hitachi having a 1TB model.
But let's return to the DVR-DT100. As you might have expected, aside from the hard-disk, the DVD-recorder can also burn DVDs, DVD-R DL, DVD-R and DVD-RW.
Another interesting feature is the presence of the two TV tuners: an analog one and a digital one, which allows you to record content simultaneously from the two, while watching a DVD.
DVR-DT100 also has a DV connector, through which you can plug in your DV camera, and a HDMI one. Pioneer warns that the device cannot record HD broadcasts, only Japanese Hi-Vision, but we think you can overlook that.
And now for the unpleasant part, mentioned at the beginning of the article: the price. Pioneer will sell the DVR-DT100 for $1500.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
