It seems that this is an exclusively music month, and a stage in which several manufacturers gave their ultimatum to the world's favorite iPod by launching at least other five challengers that are now battling for a piece of market share or just some extorted attention from some iPod users.
This is why Sony has launched yesterday another music device - an ultra-compact DVD Walkman named D-VE7000S, which is also a mobile unit, being able to travel with its user anywhere, but not to iPod Land, that's for sure…
As you are accustomed with Sony's products, you can imagine that this new DVD Walkman looks like a tablet with superb futuristic black design, lightweight, extremely stylish and has a 180-degree pivoting 7-inch widescreen LCD as the innovation brought to the market.
And now let me demonstrate why this is another Sony attempt to conquer iPod Land… The D-VE7000S is sold fully accessorized with headphones, speaker cradle, an optional car kit and a battery life of only three hours of playback … What should I say? Good luck guys!
"These portable DVD players are designed to become essentials," says Yoshiaki Kadokura, Vice President of Portable Audio Group, Sony Europe.
"They're the perfect addition to your entertainment toolkit whether you're a student, parent or frequent flyer professional. The only hard part here is deciding which one to go for."

D-VE7000S includes support for a wide range of playback disc formats including DVD, DVD±R/±RW and DVD±R dual layer discs, as well as CD, Video CD, CD-R/RW. Additionally, the D-VE7000S supports the commonly-used DivX, MP3 and JPEG formats for convenient movie and music playback to provide users their favorite multimedia entertainment.
Together with its 5.1ch surround sound Dolby Digital and DTS digital output, its extensive connectivity allows the D-VE7000S to be used as a home DVD/music player with domestic A/V equipment and it is controlled by a slim remote control.
