The Nintendo DS is one of the best-selling consoles in the world right now and, as such, it receives various accessories which boost its sales and create new trends.
This time we're dealing with a TV tuner that can be attached to the console and it might be a small gadget, but it caused Nintendo site crashes, huge pre-orders and a massive sell out. The "DS TV" adaptor receives 1seg telecasting and it was made available for pre-orders on November 8. You'll realize how popular the adaptor really is if you take into consideration the fact that the first orders for the gadget could be received at 1 p.m and the Nintendo site started experiencing issues at 3 p.m.
The Japanese company chose not to make a big fuss out of the whole thing and woke up to find a laggy official site because of too many orders.
