DROID X by Motorola, the Android-based mobile phone that Verizon Wireless made available for purchase on its airwaves about a half a year ago, is now available for purchase at Dell for free upon the signing of a contract agreement with the carrier.

Those who would like to benefit from the promotion should head over to Dell's website here, where they can have the smartphone for free upon committing to a new two-year service agreement with the wireless carrier.

The mobile phone is available with monthly plans that start at $39.99 per month, to which users would have to add a $29.99/month data plan. Existing customers willing to upgrade would have to pay $49.99 for the smartphone.

The special offer would end on January 31st, 2011, and those who would like to take advantage of it should hurry up.

The offer also includes one $25 Dell Gift Card for free for each DROID X purchased from their website, which means that you will actually be paid to get a new Android smartphone.

In case the deal sounds familiar to some, we should note that it is similar with another special promotion that Dell had on this smartphone back in December, with the DROID X free for purchase for one day, and with the said $25 Dell Gift Card also included into the mix.

For those who might have not encountered the device before, we should note that it comes to the market with a fast 1GHz processor inside, a large touchscreen display on the front, an 8-megapixel camera with LED fash and HD video recording capabilities, and more.

Some of the main features of this Android device include:

- Browse The Web Like Never Before With Flash-capable Viewing - Choose From Thousands Of Apps And Widgets From The Android Market - 3G Mobile HotSpot Capability To Connect Laptops and More To The Internet - 3 Microphones For Noise Cancellation - SWYPE Keyboard Option Pre-loaded For The Fastest Way To Type Ever - Control Your Home's FrontPoint Security System From This Phone
