Today is that big day for many Android fans in the United States, as well as for mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless. The latest member of the DROID family is now available for purchase on its website, and it getting ready to start getting out the door from the carrier's stores too. Big Red seems to have managed to finish the preparations for the launch day, and DROID X units reportedly started to show up it its stores, as well as at Best Buy. Moreover, the carrier has aired a new video teaser for the high-end device, in line with what one might have expected for a DROID device.

First of all, we should mention reports on the first DROID X by Motorola units showing up in Verizon Wireless' retail locations around the country. As one can see in the second image attached to this article (via Android Central), the new devices are lining up nicely on shelves, waiting for customers to grab them and take them along at home. Verizon said recently that it took all the necessary measures to make sure that it has enough units in stores for the big launch day, and some of the latest reports suggest that retail locations were receiving consistent shipments.

In addition to DROID X showing up in Verizon's stores, Best Buy's locations around the country are also receiving their units, a recent post on Droid-Life notes. These DROID X handsets arrived at Best Buy one day before the official launch, and their number is said to be enough to cover the pre-orders placed before July 14. However, those interested in purchasing the DROID X from a Best Buy store might want to call them first, since the retailer had exclusivity on devices' pre-order status.

That massive 4.3-inch touchscreen display, complemented by the 1GHz processor and by the 8-megapixel photo snapper, not to mention the large amount of storage space it comes with, should make the DROID X a highly appealing device. Verizon expects for its customers to be very excited about the new launch, and released a new video teaser for DROID X on Wednesday. Have a look at it below, in case you missed it yesterday.
